Kerala High Court said on Wednesday that erecting huge stones or pillars to mark boundary stones while surveying land for K Rail can’t be allowed. The court added that the public shouldn’t be intimidated while implementing the project.
In an interim order after hearing a bunch of petitions on the acquisition of land for SilverLine semi-high-speed rail corridor, Justice Devan Ramachandran said large concrete pillars embossed with K-Rail should not be erected anywhere as part of the present survey. The counsel for the K Rail assured the court that no such pillar would be erected and court orders will be duly followed in the issue. He further clarified that the present survey is being done as per the Surveys and Boundaries Act.
Meanwhile, Justice Devan Ramachandran ordered the union government to clarify its position on the proposed SilverLine semi high speed railway line. The court shouldn’t be kept in the dark in the matter. The court directed addl. Solicitor general to explain to the court the opinion of the union government in the issue by January 20. The case is posted for January 21.
