The main central road (MC) road is back in news now following the announcement of Kerala PWD minister P.A Muhammad Riyas that the state government has submitted a proposal to National Highway Authority of India to develop it. Lee was, a Malaysian national, who was the chief project manager of PATI BEL, the company which undertook stretches of MC Road development.
He committed suicide following the failure of Kerala government to pay his company dues on time. It had been reported that it was bureaucratic bottle necks, vested interests and delay in acquiring land for road development that upset the project leading to Lee’s suicide.
